"Swedish 1790s Gustavian Two-part Painted Secretary With Slanted Front Desk Ww188"
A Swedish Gustavian period two-part secretary from the late 18th century, with carved cornice and slanted front desk. Created in Sweden during the last decade of the 19th century, this Gustavian painted wood tall secretary features a carved cornice with intertwining rings and a dentil molding, sitting above two doors with slightly raised panels. These doors open to reveal inner shelves with hidden drawers offering convenient storage space. The central section showcases a slanted front desk with multiple drawers surrounding a central door, while the bottom part presents a thin, narrow drawer followed by three larger ones. Raised on nicely carved bracket feet, this Swedish Gustavian two-part secretary circa 1790 will make for a great addition to any living room, foyer or study!
