"Pair of French Louis XVI Style 1900s Bergères à la Reine Chairs with Upholstery XX122"
A pair of French Louis XVI style painted wood bergères à la Reine chairs from the early 20th century, with carved rosettes, gilded details and old upholstery. Created in France at the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, this pair of bergères chairs called Bergères à la Reine showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. Each chair features a slightly slanted rectangular back flowing seamlessly into the two full arms that are flanking the seat. The bergères are upholstered with an old fabric that is in used condition with good amount of aging and wear, secured with a brass nailhead trim. The upholstered arms present scrolling knuckles and curving supports typical of the style. The ensemble is raised on four fluted cylindrical legs, topped with carved and gilded rosettes on the knees. With their Classical lines and soft painted color, this pair of French Louis XVI style bergères à la Reine circa 1900 will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any living room or bedroom!
