15th Century Florentine Amorino Bronze

A 1400s Florentine Amorino/Spiritello in bronze stylistically related to similar models by Verrocchio, Riccio and Donatello.Balanced on one foot sharing this with Verrocchio's celebrated winged cherub fountain though clearly not a copy, further no other casts have been locarted of the present bronze. It anticipates the similarly balanced bronze Mercury of Giambologna a century later. Total height is 6 1/2 inches including antique Ebony wood socle.
