"Japanese Satsuma Vase | Hozan"
Japanese satsuma earthenware vase Meiji Period. The vase of globular shape with a tight pinched neck and flared rim opening decorated with geometric patterns with scrolling gilt boarders and flowers. Two larger scenes featuring samurai warriors on one side and multiple Bijin on the other amongst vase landscapes and flowing rivers between twosmaller scenes with blossoming flowers and objects upon tables. Below the central band blue waves crash below multiple birds flying. Signed to the base with a two character mark for Hozan 宝山.
