Romantic scene of an ancient abbey on the decline, situated on the edge of a lake in a mountainous setting. A couple of peasant figures can be seen on the far shore, and a white heron in the foreground. Oil on wood to be restored. The location could not be positively identified, but it could be an artistic rearrangement of the abbey of Hautecombe.
