Japanese Cloisonne Vase Pair | Ota Hyozo

Description :

"Japanese Cloisonne Vase Pair | Ota Hyozo"
Japanese Meiji period pair of Cloisonné enamel bottle vases of slender hexagonal form with trumpet opening upon a circular foot.Decorated to the highest quality with tapered scenes depicting kacho-ga (flowers and birds) including cherry, lilies, chrysanthemums, daffodils and wisteria, worked in silver and gilt wire of varying gauge. The neck, shoulder and foot with intricate geometric patterns of vibrant colour. Unusually the pair of vases is unsigned which is very uncommon for a pair of vases with such exceptional quality. It is likely the vases came from the workshop ofOta Hyozo or even from Hyozo himself. It goes without saying that vases of this magnitude would have taken a highly skilled craftsman to make.
