Portrait of a Hunting Dog by Christophe Cathelinaux (1819-1883)

Cathelinaux was a pupil of Michel-Martin Drolling (1786-1851) at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He devoted himself to painting animals with great success.

Oil on canvas, signed and dated 1880. Also, written in French in the top right corner "chien d'arrêt anglais" (English pointing dog).
